[Chilli] Dwell time / Client association stats

Hi David,

We currently use OpenWRT to deploy wireless hotspots running the CoovaChilli
software. This is working great and we're looking to implement some new
features that will enable us to monitor the device dwell time at a
particular location.

What we need is the ability to have something running on the router (in the
background) that is able to scan the wireless air space every few minutes to
log all the MAC addresses of devices that can be seen. When a device then
leaves the location, we can see how long that device has been there and thus
determine the dwell time at that location. This is great for statistical
purposes to the venue we provide the wifi.

Is this something anyone could help us with, either by way of advice as to
where we should be looking (binaries/utilities on the router already etc) or
as a freelance opportunity?
