Well, it's a nice neat turn of code. Might wind up stealing that pattern
if I wind up teaching C this year.

Aye, but the docs aren't fantastic for that - all the links from google
to info on UAMService and the like go to a redirect page that bounces
you to http://www.coova.org and there's no caches to use - and the hotcakes docs say
to fall back to hotspotlogin.cgi. 

Legacy stuff. You gotta love it.
