i tried to do rpmbuild but I had errors too.
I attached the config.log I hope it describes better what is my problem. :(

also, while on the topic of building, Wickert I think you changed
debian/rules making the install directory debian/coova-chilli instead of
debian/tmp, but that makes my building (using debuild as shown on that
page) fail. ? I figured I'd ask you given your name appears in the
dpkg-buildpackage man page ;)
