No time for testing, sorry, but FWIW to me the patch looks good.

This causes the compile to abort, it would probably work anyway if warnings
were accepted (-Werror compiler flag treats warnings as errors). A warning
free build is a worthy goal to pursue, so I am in favour of the patch.
