Now I doubt that it might be a radius UDP transmission issue because
this happens now on a system where radius is on the same machine like
chilli, so traffic goes through localhost.

I did a tcpdump of the radius traffic and noticed that exactly at that
time when my workaround-code (which runs every 5 seconds) fixes the not
logged out users, I see no Accounting-Stop packet, but an Interim-Update
packet instead.
That packet has the users mac address instead of his username in
User-Name field.

Anyone a clue what happens here?

Can it be that the interim-update by chance happens at the same time as
the logout and thus stop packet is not sent somehow?
